Project description:
Windpark Westermeerwind is constructed in the waters of the IJsselmeer alongside the Noordoostpolder. The windfarm consists of 48 wind turbines with a total power of 145MW, producing energy for 160.000 households. The unique part of this windfarm is the combination of offshore and onshore technology . The generated wind energy of is transported to the 110/33kV station Westermeerwind by 33kV submarine array cables. At the substation the voltage is transformed to 110kV and connected to the national grid.
Activities of Energy Solutions:
For this project, Energy Solutions contributed significatnly during the design and construction phase of the electrical installation and grid connection. The following activities have been performed together with the Westermeerwind project team:
- Writing the electrical specifications of the electrical infrastructure on 33kV and 110kV level.
- Technical support during the tender of the electrical works and component.
- Project support during the detailed engineering, manufacturing, construction, testing and commissioning of the electrical infrastructure of the windfarm
- Interface management with the national grid operator TenneT TSO for the 110kV grid connection
