Project description:

As an experienced designer of complex medium voltage systems, Energy Solutions verified and extended a medium voltage design for a datacenter. In a data center, the medium voltage installation is the backbone of the electrical energy supply to all data servers and required cooling systems. An installation of several dozen MVAs includes transformers, cabling, switchgear, protection, earthing systems and back-up generators.

Activities of Energy Solutions:

Energy Solutions verified and tested the specifications of all medium-voltage components and cables in a very short lead time of a few weeks, using load flow and short-circuit simulations. This also includes the grounding concept of the star point of the distribution transformers and back-up generators. The grid connection requirements were evaluated and a protection concept has been developed.
